Flip Flop

One of the most important lessons I learned that affected our growth as organizations and individuals is that “flip-flopping” occasionally was not only okay but necessary.
For years, our success was tied to what I had learned, what I taught, & can still make an argument for today. That our cultures should focus on:
Vision
Worldview / Philosophy / Theology
Shepherding / Taking care of people in the greatest way possible
Then one day my “Random Thought Process” kicked in and I decided to “Flip - Flop.” Redesigning our cultures around:
Shepherding
Worldview
Vision
I did so quietly, with only a few knowing what we were doing, because I wanted pure metrics to measure, not a manipulated outcome.
The Outcomes: We quadrupled in size, we gained immeasurable influence, we won accolades from all different genres of society, we got invitations to walk through doors at a magnitude that we couldn’t keep up, people were happy, the vision was accomplished, we didn't have to stoke the vision every two months, people’s investment level was off the charts, and family trees were changed forever! And it decreased pressure in my life.
It only took 3 brain tumors, a rare degenerative disease, and a rare neurological disease to get my attention. Now I am healthier than I have been in over a decade, having a blast, and honored to have a great wife, family, friends, influence, and future! (I would suggest just learning from this post, versus going the challenging way as I did) Because I chose the hard way, I unintentionally hurt people I love dearly!
The only question I had to wrestle with was if I was willing to stay true and play through the “Flip - flop”?
What do you need to flip-flop today to see a new level of success in your faith, family, or professional life?
